Registered on 29-12-2005 as part of the Right to Information movement, Pardarshita is a non-profit organization founded by activists working on pro-poor governance. We began the journey with the overarching aim of ensuring accountability in governance systems by spreading awareness in and empowering the marginalized sections of society, especially focusing on women and children so that they could avail basic rights such as quality education and good health to live in peace and dignity.

As the organisation grew, we sharpened our focus on education and brought within our fold several dimensions of it, viz., enrolment, admissions under EWS quota, making education completely free, ensuring disbursement of financial assistance to the students of government schools, etc. by engaging with various stakeholders such as the community, schools and the policymakers.

Realizing that a lot more needs to be done, Pardarshita slowly expanded its struggle with the education department to facilitate the poor’s access to schemes and entitlements within other government departments such as social welfare, health, food & civil supply and so on.

Volunteers and youth groups from within the community have played a crucial role in this regard.

Over the years, we have developed a set of skills and strengths that encompass sound legal domain knowledge, all-embracing understanding of the right of children to free and compulsory education, use of the RTI Act as a tool, networking with non-government and government authorities, and a committed support team. Our participatory approach and the fruits of our programs have helped develop faith of the community in our projects.

The organization that made a humble beginning in 2005 today has geographical presence in the whole of Delhi, district Basti of Uttar Pradesh and Jaipur in Rajasthan.
